Head Case
fall. autumn. that time of year when tv shows finally start again. whatever you want to call it, its quickly on the heels of summer and will be here before you or i know it. for some of you, this may mean a tear shed over not being able to wear your maxi dress and gladiator sandals for much longer, but for others [like me!] it may mean a welcomed end to the sweaty, oppressively humid, hot nights...
Keep Your Eye on the Target.
Reasons why you should love Holly Hunter:
-That sexy gritty voice of hers and the way that she talks out of the side of her mouth, yet still, somehow is ferociously feminine.
-The fact that she was in a made for tv movie about Roe vs. Wade
-That underappreciated Home for the Holidays movie which I [personally] loved!
-Her amazing AMAZING long golden wavy locks
-The way that she kicks...
“Guess who’s back? Back again...”

i know what you’re wondering: “where in the world have you been?!?!?!” and quite frankly, what a fair question to ask! [even i am not necessarily sure of the answer] but i do have some reasonable explanations to offer…
i scheduled a vacation to travel around the world. literally. do you know that it only costs like 8 grand to do that and you get to play the hop on/hop off...

a little bauble babble →
Bauble. It’s one of those words that sounds just like it is, right? What’s that called? Onomatopoeia? Well I’m not sure that bauble is an exact ono-mano-whatever, but it definitely has a nice ring to it either way. Bobbbbllleeeeeee. It sounds like an exquisite and funky piece of jewelry with an eye-catching quality, no? Well it definitely does to me.

a semi-charmed life →
While I’m pretty sure I don’t know any men who wear charm bracelets [though to be honest, I don’t really hang with many alpha males], I do know that the charm bracelet is always a great standard for us women folk. Personally, I feel that the unique and wonderful quality about charm bracelets is that they are always changing. My mom used to tell me about the one that she has cherished since...

a bangle a day keeps the doctor away… →
For those of you who have been reading since the start, you know how much I love bangles [for those of you newbies - it’s A LOT]. I keep coming across beautiful dazzling bangles this season that are absolutely stunning! Gold with diamonds, sapphires, rubies - sexy stones galore! Of course it’s all wayyy out of my price range [recessionistas are involved in quite tumultuous love affairs with...

we are the world. we are the children. →
Okay, so clearly we all know that mama nature is hurtin’. The words “global” and “warming” are heard at least 5 times a day within regular conversation. You know, like:
“Hey John! Great to see you. It’s been quite some time, eh? I think the last time was when Al Gore was VP - can you even remember that far back? And speaking of Al Gore, did you see that movie he made? Ummm, what was it? An...

**Warning: This post discusses real world issues. Slightly.**
While I was out cavorting and supporting small, local comedy acts last week with a two drink minimum [I know, I’m so generous], most of you were glued to your television sets. Why?! A little thing called the Oscars. [No worries - I watched it a few days later on Tivo]

So we’ve previously established that boho-chic is sticking around for the warmer weather in 2009 - and it’s sticking in a big way. We know that maxi dresses [those floor length muumuu-esque summery frocks], gladiator sandals, beaded ANYTHING, etc. will abound.
We previously chatted about seed beads and taking a cue straight from the Native American culture this spring and summer - but alas! I...

love in the time of collar-a →
Okay, so perhaps you thought it died when Mary-Kate finally succumbed to trimming her hair, but guess what, my loves? Whether you want it to be or not, boho-chic [hobo-chic?] is back. But this time around I think it really is more bohemian-centric and less I-slept-on-a-street-corner-in-Manhattan-rific. Think: less Mary-Kate, and more Kate Hudson. How can you spot this trend? Expect to see an...
