a semi-charmed life
While I’m pretty sure I don’t know any men who wear charm bracelets [though to be honest, I don’t really hang with many alpha males], I do know that the charm bracelet is always a great standard for us women folk. Personally, I feel that the unique and wonderful quality about charm bracelets is that they are always changing. My mom used to tell me about the one that she has cherished since she was a little girl. For many years, she would receive a charm for each birthday that passed, and finally she had a bracelet not only full of wildly diverse trinkets, but also chock full of memories.
Nowadays, it’s customary to buy or give a ready-made version. For the most part, people don’t want to take the time or energy scouring the earth for the perfect rose gold cockatoo to immortalize their bird “Silly Sally” from when they were five. Now, to simplify the process, we buy versions with feigned sentimental value [and some of the most random things we can think of] - gingerbread men, candy canes, mirrors, melons?! Ones so chock full of “charm” that they leave no empty links for any charm of our own. But there is a happy medium, folks - those of us who don’t want to put in the years it takes to build up an entirely unique and individual bracelet can buy ones with just a few charms already.
6 Heart Charm Bracelet
The one pictured here is a perfect gift for mom this Mother’s Day [which is quickly approaching, my loves]. With its cute array of heart charms, it’s the perfect way to show mom you love her! Plus, it leaves plenty of room for you or mom to add unique charms to make it her own. And if that weren’t enough, this beautiful sterling piece was handcrafted by survivors of the 2006 earthquake in Indonesia, and all proceeds go to helping these survivors rebuild their lives. Can you really say no to that?
